Omega WWII British Military WWW
Cal. 30T2 Manual Wind, 1945. Ref. CK 2444
Only 25,000 made
Case : stainless steel, satin finish, soldered fixed bars (for special leather strap), screw-in case back with special markings required by the British Government : WWW stands for Waterproof Wrist Watch, Y. stands for the order code, the 8-digit number is related to the case number. There is also the Broad Arrow symbol indicating the watch is Government property. This watch style has never been commercialised and was exclusively sold to the British Government.
The case is unrestored and original with light marks and scratches. Case back in excellent order with a couple of heavier case opening marks. The dial is original and unrestored. Gentle foxing of the matt black finish, and ageing of the numerals and radium spots, all consistent and correct with age. Original brown lumed hands. and original crown. The broad arrow mark has worn and looks to have had an attempt to remove it many years ago. This was probably done on a service as immediately after the war it would have been undesirable to own a military watch with such markings. Obviously the interest in original military issued pieces has grown rapidly since then as their important was realised. The movement is the famous calibre 30T2, without shock protection, serial 10,21*,*** dating to 1945. It has been completely serviced by ourselves and runs superbly keeping good time. A very rare opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable military watches in the world in superb original order. Comes in one of our red presentation boxes.
'Highly prized by Military watch collectors.'
