DESCRIPTION:
Albert Wittnauer and Eugene Robert left their homeland of switzerland in 1845 to start a business importing Swiss watches in the USA. They acted as Agents in the USA for makes such as Longines, Audemars Piguet and others. As well as doing this they also offered pocket-watches, wristwatches and other timepieces under their own name.
This is a lovely looking 14kt solid gold manual wind watch c.1940's of a smaller size making it suitable for ladies or gents. It has a black dial which has received a restoration at some point in the past. The crystal is clean and polished. There is an inscription on the back of the case but this is discreet reading simply P.Z.S.R. The watch has an excellent quality Wittnauer signed cal.9WN 17jewel movement which has been the subject of a full overhaul by our watchmaker for sale (26-04-09). The dimensions are 34mm x 22mm including lugs.
